Chris McVerry

4538994292.jpgChris has been a shooter for over 35 years and in that time has built up a wealth of knowledge of all forms of shotgun sports which he has used to help develop the sport at a National level and has held a number of influential positions within the shooting industry including:

  • Council Member of The Institute of Clay Shooting Instructors
  • Member of the CPSA Tutor Group
  • CPSA Technical Manager
  • Member of BASC Research Advisory Committee

During his time as the CPSA Technical Manger he was instrumental in the development and introduction of the CPSA Academy, a standardized national teaching program which includes the GCSE in Clay Target Shooting. This program was so comprehensive that it was adopted by the military and they worked with Chris to set up their own infrastructure of trainers. During the development of this he was lucky enough to work with some of the most successful Shooters and Coaches this country has; Chris Batha, John Bidwell, Richard Faulds MBE, Ian Peel, Ian MacGregor, Alan Warren, John Robinson to name but a few.

He was also part of the team that secured a £750,000 commitment from Sport England to work towards uniting all forms of shooting in the UK. This was a long process that had many meetings including a session at Portcullis House with the then Shadow Minister for Sport and the Olympics Hugh Roberts MP to discuss the public perception of shooting and the long term prospect of the sports funding that was currently available.

Over the years he has built up a comprehensive portfolio of qualifications including:

  • CPSA Senior Safety Officer
  • CPSA Senior Coach (Sporting, Trap and Skeet)
  • NVQ Assessor
  • NABBA Instructor (Fitness)
  • Advanced CRB and Child protection

Which along with 15 years experience as a Senior Manager in the Motor Industry enables him to quickly connect with his clients so that all their outcomes are met in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
